Is it possible to remove a serial number tag from the frame of a Glock? The reason I ask is that I was looking at a used Glock 21 yesterday and the tag that has the serial number on it was bulged out of the frame as if it had been removed and replaced, but not seated completely. I don't imagine that would be possible and I'd be concerned in buying that gun because it sure looks like the serial number had been messed with. I don't know if it had been or not, but I could see it raising questions if the gun had ever been checked since the sn tag was bulging out of the frame. Unfortunately, I was not smart enough to look at the serial number on the slide to see if it matched. I think the gun was a gen 2, but I know about as much about Glocks as I know about how my wife's mind works.

It's just a question out of curiosity since they were asking $500 for a gun that had only one mag and dead night sights.

I personally would not take the chance. But you could always check it out again to verify the numbers. If they don't match there is a major problem. I would take a friend with me just in case.

I have a gen 3 23 with a tag that sticks out a bit, but it is in tight and does not appear to have been tampered with. The tag on my 22 sits even with the frame.

    I've wondered about this myself.

Some are flat, huh? I have an old 23 (1st or 2nd gen) as well as a newer 36 and both tags look like this.

Glock changed the way they seated them in the frames at some point, a 2004 17 I have is different than more recent models from the past 4 years.
