Going to Bloomington this weekend I will be carrying concealed on and around campus. I typically don't pay attention to signs, just vote with my wallet. Are a lot of businesses anti 2A.?
Super liberal town and illegal to carry on campus (borders aren't super well defined) but just keep it covered.
I'm sure if you were open carrying you'd get a lot of guff, but keep it hid and enjoy the town. Bloomington is a real nice place this time of year!
I want to hear more about this.Super liberal town and illegal to carry on campus (borders aren't super well defined) but just keep it covered.

WHAT??? You're going to Bloomington? Don't you know it's exactly like Chicago? As soon as you set foot in the town, you'll be mugged, raped, ticketed for wearing animal products, and then raped again. Every minute some liberal student or professor will come up to you to redistribute your wealth and for the jobless bums who they say deserve healthcare. If you try to have a meal anywhere, the waiting staff will sodomize you with all all-organic, non-GMO turnip. If you try to leave, the cops will stomp you on the curb and then send you to sensitivity training with some transgender Nazi Eskimo PETA activist, and you can't leave until you turn gay and have an abortion! DO NOT GO, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT GO!
Well ****. I should probably stop breaking the law.illegal to carry on campus
Despite those facts, I still had to "obtain the consent" of the IU Police Department. Although the IU Police were happy to help me with my request, I was more angry with Bloomington PD for requiring this.
Actually, I'm pretty sure it would. But I get your point, and yes, you should have told them to process your application anyway or speak with your lawyer. What if the police caught me drinking at age 20, 40 different times? That does not prevent me from carrying a firearm.
Bloomington is a great place, even if the university is a socialist enclave. However, I graduated from there, and I turned out to be pro-liberty. No one will know you are carrying a firearm if it is concealed. It is not illegal to carry on campus, although you could be asked to leave if you are caught with a gun. The university is anti-gun. When I was a student there, I renewed my LTCH through the Bloomington Police Department. I did not live on campus, I had a job, went to school, and was a full-time resident of Bloomington. Despite those facts, I still had to "obtain the consent" of the IU Police Department. Although the IU Police were happy to help me with my request, I was more angry with Bloomington PD for requiring this. I never got in an ounce of trouble on campus, but what if I had. What if the police caught me drinking at age 20, 40 different times? That does not prevent me from carrying a firearm. What if I received complaints about my music's volume when I lived in the dorms? Were they going to deny me based on that? Sorry for the rant.
The only way that IU Police will know that you are violating their unconstitutional policy (after all, IU is a public institution) is if you do a show and tell with your weapon. What they don't know won't hurt them.

Did you get your finger prints done at the police station? Can you explain more about how you had to get consent from the campus police? Ive never heard of this before. I got my LTC while at my school and never had to deal with anything like that… They also knew I was at school through casual conversation.
