Hello all, I have recently been getting into climbing and rappelling, and am getting sick of practicing ascending and rappelling to and from 20 ft. tree branches. Are there any decent places with 20 ft. to 50 ft. cliffs/overhangs within a few hours or less of Indy? Thanks again!

Used to go to an area called Hemlock Cliffs in Hoosier National Forest. Lots of good spots from 35' to 150'.

I used to rappel at McCormick's Creek State Park when I was younger. The park rangers didnt care for it though.

Thanks for the info all, I'm looking it up as we speak. I was under the impression that rapelling was illegal in state parks, but of course that does not apply here, and the Hoosier National Forest website states that rapelling is allowed. Excellent.
