got a 243 for about nothin, heh

Went to cabelas with my dad & nephew to browse knowing full well I wasn't gonna buy anything. Apparently things change when u don't expect it too. They had a savage axis youth model(20"brl , 1" less lnth of pull), which started out last year at 340bucks marked down to 199. I had to double check the tag, heh. I had been looking for a nice little gun for anyone to shoot for when we go deer huntin in Arkansas. My dad was talking , hey ill go in half, since he knows I already have 2 243's. So I smiled at him and said, ok! So I buy the gun , use all my cabelas points, 108bucks worth + his 108 bucks and the gun costs me nothing outta pocket

Good deal. Both, my dad and I have Axis rifles. One in .308 and the other in .270. No problems out of either of them so far. For the money they are hard to beat for an entry level out of the box utility/hunting rifle
