So I was pulled over last night as I was on my way home from buying ammo the other night. I decided to stop at a gas station a mile away from my home and fill up(gas prices are too good to pass up recently)

I pull into the gas station and park at a pump, I look in my rear view mirror and I see a county brownie parked right behind me. A minute later he turned his lights on and approached my car.

Turns out I was speeding (51 in a 35)... And had expired registration(I forgot to renew :/)

The officer was badass and gave me a verbal warning for speeding, and thank God, he didn't tow my car.

I didn't expect it to go so well. He saved me hundreds in ticket /towing/impound fees

Crap, my taxes just went up for insufficient fine collection :xmad:

just kidding. Good of him to let you off. Did you say, "thanks officer! After buying this much ammo I'm not sure I could have afforded the ticket?". :):

Which begs the question, if carrying, did you notify or not?

Actually, I was pulled over last night on the way home from seeing "The Hobbit" at IMAX.

    State Police on 465E.....

P: Sir, do you know why I pulled you over?
    M: No idea...
P: You swerved over the white line a little bit back there.... have you had anything to drink tonight?
    M: Not a bit.
P: License and Registration please, wait here one minute.
P: Ok, just a warning. (I don't know what the warning was for I didn't ask)
M: Thanks, have a good night.

I was carrying, I didn't mention it, he didn't ask.

I was at work before the Walmart trip and before being pulled over.
I never take my firearm to work. I don't feel comfortable leaving it in my car. my place of employment is in a town right next to a high crime town. There have been several cases of automotive break-ins.

Total stop time was under 5 minutes easy...
I didn't get the opportunity to wink and blow a kiss in his direction.....
I also failed to mention: Am I being detained?!
Clearly a textbook case of what not to do.

Great question. I happened to not be carrying at that moment. But, if I was, I definitely would've notified him.

Can I ask why? Do you usually OC/CC? Obviously if you were out gassing up he'd have seen your OC, but if you were CC and he didn't ask, why would you have mentioned it? Just curious.

No "I do not consent to any searches," or any "I will not answer any questions without my lawyer present?" You failed INGO. Please say 10 Hail Marys and 10 Our Jellos. Please turn your wallet over to ISP and report to the FEMA camp when you're done.

    I almost always CC.
And I don't really have a good reason reason as to why I would tell him. I just feel obligated to do so, though I know I'm not obligated.
They come into contact with enough criminals, I like to tell them from the beginning that I'm not a criminal. It's a choice whether or not to tell, and I choose to do so.
