Interesting how he is indicted just after leaving office. I smell a rat, especially with Holder still running the show.

Actually, this case has been going on for quite a while. The prosecutors have just been getting all their ducks in a row. I remember hearing about this back in October when we vacationed in the Outer Banks and were watching VA news stations. The only rat here was the former governor thinking he and his wife were teflon coated.

There's just as much corruption and cronyism in the GOP as there is in the DNC. Two mafia families running our country for their interest, not the peoples. Politician allegedly broke the law, D or R, neither should be a surprise.

In Roman times politicians convicted of taking bribes were sewn into a bag with a wild animal and thrown into the river.

Doubt there will be a new trial. Firstly, the 4th circuit has to reconsider the judgment for acquittal motion which in light of the opinion they will probably grant. Secondly, there is almost no way that the government will get a conviction at a second trial with the jury instructions that will now be required.

Their entire theory of the case was based upon actions the Supreme Court said were not official acts.

It's all good though, Hillary's bestest buddy ever gets to be governor of Virginia which is what the DOJ really wanted.
