I went back through the last 20 pages of posts and i did not see any on the H&K P30L. Does anyone have any experience with this pistol? I have heard mixed reviews.

What are you thoughts on the H&K P30L?

It's an HK. They have the ergos down to a science and they are put together quite well. They are a bit pricey to start with and the mags aren't cheap, but I'm a 1911 guy and the P30 feels better than any other pistol I've handled. Period. The DA trigger pull is a bit heavy but HK makes a billion variants of the triggers so you can find one that works for you (the LEM trigger is FANTASTIC).

If you've got the money and want a quality range toy/OC gun you can't go wrong with the P30L. Also as an aside the HK45 is the big brother in 45ACP if you have a caliber affiliation.

I have both the P30L and the HK45. Love them both!
I shoot the P30L every month at FNS.

I bought them mainly for the ergos. The P30L has interchangable side and backstraps, whereas the HK45 is only backstraps. The P30 is now available in 9mm and .40.
The only issues I have ever had were when I was working up some 9mm loads on the P30. The weaker charges didn't have the umph to cycle the gun. This thing loves it some +P.

Mixed reviews? I dont think i have ever heard anything negative about a P30. I only have experience with the P30 not the L, but its the same other than length. And in 9mm since they were designed for NATO spec ammo which is a little hotter, they can experience a issue with weak loads untill broken in.

IMO ,they are the best of the best!

more on what everyone else has said, HK's are some of the most expensive stock pistols around and for good reason. I have 5 HK pistols ranging for USP's to an HK45 and they are amazing guns, thats why people shell out hundreds more for them than a Glock or similar, the p30 is no exception.

Which HK did you add to the collection? I might be motivated to go stimulate the economy too.:D

I had been keeping an eye out for a P2000sk in 357sig to replace my Sig229 in 357sig. The darn things are a bear to find, I've been looking for most of last year. I posted about one in the 'What are you buying at the 1500 thread' and Mark over at Bradis let me know they had one in stock that they took in on trade about a week ago. It was a factory offered 357/40 combo pack with both barrels, manual, original box, test fired round, and LEM trigger. Only thing it was missing was the cable lock....whoop de freakin do....Plus he gave me a price that beat everything else I had seen.

So I busted a$$ over there this afternoon and snatched it up!
Anyone wanna buy a Sig226?

    Thanks Mark(Shooter521)/Bradis:ingo:

I gotta say, the P30L feels great in the hand. Before shooting with SmileDocHill yesterday i went by Gandermtn (just to see and feel what they had), and the P30 felt great. I wouldn't personally by from Gandermtn, but they had one i could feel...WOW!

I also found a place that would sell me the P30L for $850, brand new. Would that be considered a good price? What do i need to consider before making a purchase?

I paid about $800 for my P30L back in February of 2009 in the height of the rush...

Hkpro.net would be a great resource for current pricing.
