I think we can all agree that it would be a small price to pay to make others feel safe.

We'd have to modify the cake comic.

Andre Carson sent me a generic response that didn't address what I sent him. Saying all the crap he's done over the past year. The best part is the last paragraph...get ready for it guys....

    "KEEPING HOOSIERS SAFE:

As your representative and as a former law enforcement officer, keeping you and your family safe has always been my top priority.*That is why I was so honored to be appointed to the House Intelligence Committee earlier this year.*This appointment gives me an inside view of our efforts to protect our country and allows me to play a critical role in the fight against terrorism.*

It is an honor and a privilege to serve you. *If I can do anything to assist you, please do not hesitate to contact my office.**Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2016."

Apparently he feels like taking away our tools for self defense somehow is keeping us safer. Moron.

    Dear Thomas:

Thank you for contacting me to express your opposition to H.R. 4269, the Assault Weapons Ban of 2015. I appreciate hearing from you.

Introduced by Rep. Cicilline, H.R. 4269 would prohibit the sale, transfer, manufacture, and importation of semiautomatic weapons and ammunition feeding devices capable of accepting more than ten rounds. The measure also would prohibit duplicate or altered facsimile firearms with semiautomatic capabilities and would prohibit the importation of assault weapons and large-capacity magazines.

H.R. 4269 was referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary, where it is currently pending consideration. The measure has 123 cosponsors and a companion measure has not been introduced in the Senate.

Thank you again for contacting me. Be assured that I will continue to monitor H.R. 4269 with your views in mind. Do not hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

    Sincerely,
    Peter J. Visclosky

Very politician like. Speaking from past experience with any contact I've engaged in with Visclosky regarding anything from my personal pro gun related views and some of the responses I've gotten I find it hard to believe that he intends to follow this abomination with your specific kind of views in mind.

    Pete,
Thank you for stating the blindly obvious. What do you plan to do when your unemployed? If it requires distinguishing duck **** from apple butter you'll be an epic failure.

The problem is that he's a Rep. in a democrat strong hold region which pretty much gives him lifer status in this area and he's governed by that so he pretty much could'nt care less about anyone else's political differing point of view.

Well, we will find out soon enough, how far this goes. I will not read anything into anything, until it is either approved or denied. They are getting desperate...they see their time getting short. :twocents:

    Dear Mr. xxxxxxxxx:

Thank you for contacting me to voice your concerns about gun violence prevention. The opinions of my fellow Hoosiers are essential to the decision making process as a Member of Congress.
As you may know, I am strongly in favor of having and enforcing sensible laws to keep guns out of the hands of people who are incapable of using them safely and responsibly. In and around my own neighborhood, I have witnessed how gun violence has the power to destroy families and entire communities. These preventable tragedies are unacceptable.
I believe that strong restrictions must be enacted to protect both the public and the Second Amendment rights of all Americans. For this reason, I am a cosponsor of the Public Safety and Second Amendment Rights Protection Act which would improve our current system of background checks to help prevent violent felons and those with severe mental illness from easily purchasing guns. Rest assured, I make the safety of my constituents a top priority and will continue to monitor this issue as it moves forward.
I appreciate hearing your thoughts on this important issue and I hope you will continue to contact my office on future issues. I encourage you to visit my website at Congressman Andre Carson | Representing the 7th District of INDIANA where you can view the latest news and updates about pertinent issues and legislation important to you, or follow me on Twitter @RepAndreCarson. You may also sign up for my weekly e-newsletter The Carson Courier to receive periodic updates on my activities in Indianapolis and in Washington, D.C. As always, my staff and I are here to serve you. Please feel free to contact me if we ever can be of further assistance to you.

    Sincerely,
