So I've bought a FNS 9 recently and was comparing it to my M&P, I noticed the FNS lockup is fairly tight and requires a bit of force to unlock while the M&P (roughly 1500 rds through) is fairly easy to unlock and rack. Do I need to worry about the lockup on my M&P or is the FNS just tight?

I think that they are both fine... Shoot 1500 rounds through your FNS and then compare too, not saying they will be the same but it may loosen a bit (all is well). As long as they both fire I'd say you're good to go, just different pistols.

Worry about printing a tight group on the target and forget everything else. Most handguns are capable of much more accuracy than most humans.
