A knife at a gunfight was "well prepared" as the article put it? The owner wanted something behind the counter for the workers to protect themselves with?

The clerk was extremely lucky to not be blown away by the perp. He either ran out of balls, ammo, or both. The article comes across as, in a veiled way, conveying the message one does not need a gun to defend oneself which is a fool's gambit.

As for being 2 years old and resurrected, I have no problem with that if there's something to learn from it. But this should be in the Carry Issues and Self-Defense Forum, I suppose.

I hadn't thought about it that way, but what you say, Cary, makes sense.

Also, when I posted it from a FB feed, I did not realize it was two years old... Should have looked closer.

Id say the guy got lucky. The perp obvioulsy never intended to use his gun. If he had, this would have become a much different story.
