If you like "mechanically interesting" firearms, you should take a close look at the M1895 Nagant pistol.
As far as I know, it's the only revolver than can be effectively suppressed, though it probably isn't worth the trouble.

Yeah, I find it kinda funny that you can just kinda dump the rounds in the side trayI've always found the .30-40 Krag rifle to be interesting too.
Mainly due to the way the magazine feeds.
I always thought it looked like a Rube Goldberg invention.
