I was shooting my glock 19 while a guy next to me was shooting the XDm 5.25 comp. He let me try his after I was done. I since sold my two glocks. That is a GREAT gun! Congrats, you'll love it. It opened my eyes to guns other than Glocks and I can tell you there is a life outside the glock world....but, I still love glocks too! ....oh yea, his was the 9mm.

Holy $h!+ batman, a Glockie admitted that there is other tools in the box besides a glock. What's this world comming to? :D

Just kidding, I want a xdm 5.25 as well. I'm jealous. Hope you enjoy and don't forget to post range report for us less fortunate. And I'd go with the 9mm simply for the cost of shooting a lot.

I'll throw my chip in for the 9mm. Cheap to shoot, accurate, low recoil...good all around round. Not quite the stopping power of the .40, but you'll be able to afford to practice with it a LOT more, so those shots will be in better places. ;)

Get both. 9mm and .40 :): Seriously though, just like everyone else has mentioned, .40 cal rounds are roughly 1/2 again more money than 9mm. i"ll usually shoot 100 rounds of 9mm and 50 rounds of .40 each trip to the range to save myself money.
