I just sent this away a few minutes ago.

    Dear Senator Coats,

My primary concern in contacting you today is my concern for the nomination and appointment of the next supreme court justice. May I first say RIP Justice Scalia, job well done.

The appointed replacement for Justice Scalia may well swing the liberty loving and free country that I am proud to be a citizen of, from one of a democratic republic, to that of a European model socialist state. It is so very important that you use your influence, and political power to save our country, and start it on it's path back to the great nation that we knew in our youth. I trust that you being our elected Senator will represent us well to this end.

The opinion that my wife, myself and several of the patrons of my business have, is that an appointee should not be nominated by the current president, but the choice should be made by the incoming president to be elected November, 2016, and hopefully a republican. God save us if it's one of the democrats.

While I have your attention, I am sorry to see that you are not running for re-election, however I would like to thank you for your service in representing the great state of Indiana, and it's people, in Washington, these past few years.

    Your constituent, (my real name)

Contact info is here: Home | United States Senator Dan Coats of Indiana

If you can play keyboard camando/moderator/site supporter and all that other stuff here for hours on end, you can spend 10 minutes writing your Senator.

I don't think I will waste my time on Senator Donelly, not real bad guy, but I think he will follow party lines regardless of the mail he receives.

Pretty sure the president has a constitutional right to nominate someone, to say he doesn't, then you should just strip away all your constitutional rights as well, that doesn't mean that the senate has to do anything with that nomination.

My point is, let him nominate all he wants. Just do not confirm. Sorry if I was unclear, and your point is well made/taken.

Yes I see my mistake now, even after I proof read it. Sorry.

He has the power to nominate people with advice and consent of the Senate.

Is he going to seek the advice of the Senate on the nominee or only their consent? I think we all know the answer to that.
