Update: Hawthorne man says police retaliation is the reason he now faces felony

Man's decision to pull over & record police activity cost him his dog's life; now could land him 5 years in prison | Police State USA

HAWTHORNE, CA –A man’s decision to pull over to the side of the road and record police turned out to be a costly one. So far it has cost him his dog’s life, time in jail, and legal fees, but new felony charges could potentially land him in prison for up to 5 years. He and his lawyers allege that the charges are retaliation for a year-old complaint of police brutality.

Rosby’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, called the charges “one of the biggest perversions of the criminal justice system” he had ever seen. “They executed his dog. They broke his ribs a year ago [during an arrest]. They manufactured felonies against my client,” Geragos said.

“It’s payback,” said Geragos, pointing out that Rosby had filed a complaint alleging he was beat up by Hawthorne police last year. “It’s police payback, because somebody had the temerity to film them.”

Contempt of cop is a hard row to hoe, good luck to him. You're better off being like the fireman from evansville who wised up and said yes sir, no sir, three bags full to the cops even though they didn't deserve to be acknowledged as such.
