Wow. I thought all the talk of the north american union was mostly bilderberger conspiracy stuff. Apparently some guy signing a piece of paper or saying something is enough to push us into a whole new type of agreement. Hopefully they don't get the idea to push Canadian style gun laws here.

I talked to a guy who lives in Canada. He had 1 shotgun licensed, locked in a case, with the ammo locked in another case inside his home. He forgot to renew the license on time and the day it expired two police showed up with rifles knocked, pushed into his house, asked where the gun was, and took it out of his house. It took 6 months and fees and paperwork to get it back. No F-ing way. It was for duck hunting has it would have been useless in self defense since you couldn't have the ammo with the shotgun. Pistols and rifles were a no-go.

Ah, unless you work for the King, of course. That's disgusting.

Obama & Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper have signed a joint declaration of creating a shared continental border for security & economic expediency.

What this really signifies is one more step toward weakening our national sovereignty and implementing a North American Union.

    Discuss/deny.

    Obama signature creates 'continental perimeter'

Declaration by President Obama and Prime Minister Harper of Canada - Beyond the Border | The White House

As a dual citizen with Canada and the US, I've got no problems with it. It helps move products with each others largest trading partner (>$1B/day; >$400B/year). It's worse for the Canucks. This idea was brought up under the previous administration, but the Canadians rejected it fearing they'd lose control of their gov't to the Americans.

Most people forget that our air defense has been joined at the hip for over 50 years (NORAD est. 1958)

    Or, more importantly, Canadian bacon.

I know this is humour, but Canadian bacon isn't bacon in Canada. We call it ham. Our bacon is the same as "US" bacon (thank goodness)

So both sides are expressing concerns over lack of sovereignty, and that is not a concern of yours? Are you familiar with the movement to create a North American Union? Do you support continental/world government?

Another step closer to a fully-integrated North American Security Perimeter

The Attorney General and DHS Minister went to Canada recently to advance this agenda.

Redefining the U.S.-Canada Border: The End of Canada as a Sovereign Nation?
In early March, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano met with Canadian Justice Minister Rob Nicholson and Public Safety Minister Vic Toews as part of the Cross-Border Crime Forum. On the agenda was, “transnational crime issues such as organized crime, counter-terrorism, smuggling, economic crime and other emerging cross-border threats.” Both countries also signed a memorandum of understanding on the Dissemination and Exchange of Information to combat human smuggling and trafficking. The meetings were used as an opportunity to further advance U.S.-Canada cooperation in areas of law enforcement, criminal justice and intelligence. This ties in with my previous article which detailed the Obama administration’s new counter-narcotics strategy for the northern border that includes closer collaboration with Canada in the war on drugs. Much of the joint crime forum discussions focused around the progress being made on the Perimeter Security and Economic Competitiveness Action Plan, announced in December 2011.

A readout of Attorney General Holder and Secretary Napolitano’s visit to Ottawa explained that talks with their Canadian counterparts centered largely around promoting the perimeter security agreement. It highlighted, “efforts to develop the next-generation of integrated cross-border law enforcement operations, and improve information sharing practices.” Attorney General Holder stated, “Our productive discussions today at the Cross Border Crime Forum go a long way toward advancing a key pillar of the Beyond the Border initiative that President Obama and Prime Minister Harper announced last year: integrated law enforcement that adds value to our relationship by leveraging shared resources, improving information sharing and increasing coordination of efforts.” Secretary Napolitano emphasized that, “We will continue to work with Canada to further enhance information sharing and integrate our cross border law enforcement operations, strengthening the national and economic security of both our nations.” As part of the perimeter security deal, both countries are moving ahead with harmonizing intelligence sharing capabilities.

Hell, no. We're just waiting and biding our time. War of 1812 will recommence two hundred years later, picking up where we left off and failed. :D

I haven't evaluated the information, but if you type in 'un' google thinks you had a type on 'gun'. If you type in 'united nations' it will give you a barrel of information.

Nope, but when there is a win you stop and take note before moving on to the next fight.

It is better than wailing and lamenting about how we can never win in internet posts.
