It's frustrating that most of the people that would be the "best leaders" never seem to be interested in it, and the people that might NOT be the "best leaders" always seem to be the ones to go for it...
Oh,brother! They go to IU, get indoctrinated with liberal views, leave, and try to foist that stuff on the public. Then, when they have done all the damage they can, they go back to IU for inbreeding, and a stake in the Kool-Aid factory. IU is full of this stuff. I see it every day. Will these Universities ever learn? ...........(steps down from soapbox.)

Someone has to do it. If a decent person won't, an idiot will.
Your statement reminds of Plato's Republic. The most important reason for one to take public office is to avoid the punishment of being ruled by one worse than one's self. I'll never forget that part.
In a way this is good. Helmke was always protected by a compliant media and handlers who wouldn't let anyone get that close. Now all this is gone away and he's vunerable to people pointing out his years of lying and double-talking.
If the pro-gun students wanted to they could fix it so that Helmke has no credibility on the campus at all, and becomes a laughing stock. It will take work and time, and they'll be bucking an administration who probably considers Helmke a real "catch" but it can be done.
