To answer the question about the shield... My shield is great for inside the waist band. It is slightly too large to put in my pocket comfortably.

Also, I stopped by my local gun store yesterday and ordered a Sig 938. I think that will be the best fit for what I am looking for, and I have only heard good reviews.

When I was looking to replace my Keltec for the same reasons you a replacing the River I got a Sig P238. Great gun and my EDC for office work, etc. Simply disappears for concealment and for comfort. A bit heavy for pocket carry depending on the pants. Great reviews and I was window shopping in 4-5 gun shops, every sales guy carried one.

My son got a SW Bodyguard which I like better than the Keltec and a more affordable price point.
