I have a new Stag arms, ar, in 5.56. I like using the iron sites, but I want something for long range shooting also. if possible, something with a drop compensator in it. I want to keep the option of using the iron sights also. is this possible? any suggestions are appreciated, thanks.

It's possible, you can use a qd scope mount that reruns to zero, or some folks put the irons of 45 degree mounts.

I just put on a 1-4 scope on my rifle with a 45 degree iron sights and I'm really impressed with the set up, I recommend to buy a quality scope as the lower end have distortion.

I went with a scope from A&A optics and then did the 45 degree sights... Dueck Defense RTS sights to be specific. Its a sweet set up and I am very pleased with both the scope and the RTS as well. Best of both close range irons and long distance magnification of a good scope.
