Guessing you are talking bench shooting?
You might spend closer to $500 to hit that bang for buck range.
Bushnell MatchPro 6x24
Swampfox Patriot 6x24
Arken SH-4
Vortex Diamondback 6x24
If you want to stay cheaper - maybe the Hawke Vantage IR 6-24.
For budget I have an old Nikon 3-9 rimfire scope. Killed a bunch of squirrels over the years. I'd look for a A&A refurb 3-9/2-7 crossfire ii. In terms of value for the money you can't beat them.
Personally I don't see why you would need 24x on a scope you're limiting to 150 yards, unless you're shooting some kind of pin match at a crazy distance.
Some bench rest guys will use 30-50x scopes. If you're shooting paper and want to see your hits/groups at 100-150 yards that 16-24x range is nice to have. Also, since optics tend to fall apart a little bit at the end of their magnification range, you can always back it off and be in the sweet spot for a given optic
Yeah I didn't realize bench rest shooting was so intense. When you're aiming at a .25" dot at 50 yards and up, 16 power is the absolute minimum. And parallax adjustment is a must. Totally different game than squirrel hunting.
Leopold 6.5-20 x 40 efr.
Find a used one then send it back for target turrets and a 1/4 minute target dot reticle.
Mine is awesome.
Hello all
Just picked up a CZ 457 .22 and looking for suggestions on glass. Probably won't shoot more than 150 yards. Mostly 100y
What's the best bang for the buck.
Budget is around $450 max
Prefer around 300 but I do want somthing quality.
Thanks
