If you're not familiar with this guy, he does a lot of cool videos with lasers.

He just made a laser gun (8x5W), and shows it off against various objects.

I should try to get back into lasers. I have too many hobbies though. I have a degree in Lasers & optics and haven't really ever used it. We [classmates] made some impressive high powered pulsed lasers back in the day. The continuous power out of these newer laser diodes are amazing.
