    I even thought of the idea of covering the uprights and top piece with 1.5" wide strips of plate steel to keep them from getting shot up. Then scrapped the idea because 1. Replacement 2x4s are cheap and 2. It would reinforce the notion that I'm a bit OCD in my designs! :D
