20th-24 this month (Sept) I am going to do some basic camping. I am going to use all the gear I have bought over the years and see what actually works for me and what can be dismissed. If anyone wishes to join me just send me a PM.

Got Back and ready to go again. I went to the German Ridge area, great hiking (walking) ,with wounderful basic campsites. (was disapointed people were pigs before me with trash and such took 20 mins to police up the area before I pitched my tent but ohhh well)

Sounds great. Was the basic campsite in a designated area with water, outhouse, etc?

Sounds like a nice time. In years past my wife and I would go camping down there frequently.

Camping

Yes the site I used was made for camping with a pad and water (centrally located) and a pit toilet (the cleanest one I have ever seen !!). The site had a cool item I had not seen provided before, a pole with hooks to hang lights, trash bag (although as stated earlier the previous campers didn't know what a trash bag was). All around very good time

We always try to leave the place looking better than we found it. Never hike without a hefty bag...

German Ridge, Indian-Celina, Tipsaw, and Hardin Ridge campgrounds all have the nifty lantern hooks lol
