Welcome everyone to the 132nd edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only has a Fudd appeal? Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.

In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, decided the custom SIG P220 was just a pile of fudd crap.

HGFC – German Magic or Custom Tragic? — Poll Results
At this time the original auction remains up with the custom SIG P220 still up for grabs. We can only hope this German SIG can find its way to a new home in the near future.

In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at a Harley Quinn themed Chiappa Rhino 50DS chambered in .357 Magnum. As is tradition, this character-themed gat is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $2,099 Current Bid or $2,199 Buy It Now.

Let’s see what the Staff had to say about this week’s offering:

“For that deranged loved one with daddy issues” – Nick C.
“Only the mentally deranged would consider purchasing this. Fitting given the theme.” Lucas D.
“Look at how they massacred my boy.” – Tim C.

HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Comically Inspired or Just Comical?
The Chiappa Rhino is like a standard revolver but action has been turned upside-down. This gives the Rhino a lower bore axis that’s the overall selling point for this design. Ironically, as the cylinder indicates love and hate, the design is both loved and hated for various reasons as well.

Overall, the Chiappa Rhino needs no help in the “overly tactical” looking design department. Taking it one step further with a comic book theme just seems a little over the top. Sure you have features like fiber optic adjustable sights and a rail for accessories, but for just over $2k, that’s a lot of money for a Harley Quinn Fanboy to spend.

So is this gun worth anywhere near the asking price? Or are Black Rose Firearms just unnecessarily customizing guns for every gun-toting comic book character? As always, I leave it up to you, the readers, to decide.

No different than any other gun from a movie? So basically if you like the movie you’d like the gun. (If you’re into collecting) wonder if the people saying fudd would feel the same about tombstone replicas? Or John wick? Insert any action movie but really this would be targeted to memorabilia collectors more so than firearm

While I can appreciate pearl or ivory in grips, those just don't do anything for me.

I wouldn't spend my money on it, but I imagine there are plenty of people who collect movie themed guns.

I have yet to fire a Rhino and would like to some day.
