It's hit mostly with 5.56. It deforms pretty good and mushrooms out upon impact. Normally that's a bad thing when shooting steel due to possible ricochet, but we're hitting it 200yds out, so its a non-issue. Its just some scrap we hung up to hit at distance, so we can save the AR500 stuff for closer.
Actually, we did hit another one with a .50 Barrett and it slid right through the flange, and the post behind it, and went into the berm.
I have the AR500 and need to drill new holes in it. Any idea if a basic drill press will be able to pull it off or am I gonna need commercial grade work done?
Thanks for the info guys. I just bought my first steel from the guys at Bobcat Steel at the 1500 yesterday and I've been trying to think of ways to get a good setup going.
