    ...It turns out that the first shot hit the rear leg, which was the next target after the head. When the squirrel moved its head at the shot, the leg was hit.

    The next bullet took it in the chest on the underside. (I was shooting almost straight up).

    The final shot took it smack dab in the chest, right where I aimed, and is what finally dropped it.

    "Ammo failure" as expressed by a former sniper on another board.

    The squirrels we have around here are some of the toughest I've seen anyplace, and I have no idea how they stand up to it.

    That's one big squirrel. I've been using the CCI SGB. It is a flat nosed bullet. It seems to impact the animal pretty well, is accurate and doesn't tear up any meat.

    I'm with you. I don't take any pleasure in making a game animal suffer. Quick, clean kills for me, too.

    about 10 years ago a fox squirrel got into my grandfathers bird house and went out there with a 22 pistol and unloaded it and reloaded it be for it died. he hit ten time before it did
