I haven't hunted since I was in high school, and I didn't live anywhere near Indianapolis then.
My 12yo wants to try his hand at hunting, has for a couple years. I have NO IDEA where to go around Indpls or how to get started. I'm not looking for a big involved ordeal - but want to give it a go with him in an obviously safe manner. Squirrel, rabbit, quail, anything small like that is what I am thinking.
And I understand this next statement is hilarious to the experienced; but I need help learning to clean them if we bag one.
I'm thinking of going to a paid hunting location - but that seems pretty expensive when what I'm really looking for is a couple of hours in a woods somewhere.
Any ideas for 1) a good location and 2) some quick training on cleaning?
I'm thinking if we actually bag something we might just bring it home and YouTube something on how to clean.
EDIT: We have both been through the Hunter Ed class sponsored by 4H and DNR.
