Last I read it was no sbr, but pistol is ok. Apparently the stock makes all the difference. Seems dumb to me, but such is many gun laws.
Exactly before the barrel length was clear now its not on there but I would think that a true stock would be more accurate and as such a more safe/ethically way to hunt.
IIRC, the reason for the no SBR rule was that at one point the rules were written in such a way that a SBR met the definitions of a pistol and thus would be legal in rifle calibers which were not legal in rifles at the time. Some busybody brought this to the DNR's attention, and the DNR being the DNR, the did the expedient thing of making SBRs illegal for hunting.
