Hunting with silencers

Hunting with silencers was illegal last time I checked but a (usually) in the know buddy just told me the laws just changed to make it legal as of 6/1/13.
Is this true of does he have his wires crossed.
I have looked on the DNR page & can't find anything about new laws that says anything about silencers.
I told him to email me the link to the info if he can find it......still waiting.

Check the NFA section, there is a thread on it. I believe it becomes legal July 1, not June.
