I looked up the serial number

Upon a closer look on the barrel (the stamping in the barrel is nearly gone), it is a 1200. While it may not be super old, it still shoots great!

Again not an expert, but it may be possible your 1200 has a serial number which when looked-up in the Model 12 Serial Number chart, would give you a date, just not the right one(?).

I seem to recall they used to have the M12 chart as reference in the Fjestad Gun Values book, since it was a gun with so much collector interest.

Your 1200 is a great shooter. I have its brother, a 1400 20 gauge auto, and for what I paid for it, it will never be for sale. The 1300s were great too...broke my first clay target with one.

I’ve used this one for trap a couple times and I wish the barrel choke was more open so I could use it for skeet. I have a couple 20 gauges and the Winchester is my favorite

Mine is anything but unfired. Getting the wood done as we speak, the metal is already finished.

It has a Cutts with a spreader so she should bust clays as well as she busts ears...

It has a spreader choke on it? IMHO that doesn't seem like an ideal choke for breaking clays. Other than skeet which is often shot with a more open choke, most people I know shoot clays with a mod or tighter choke.
Looks good though especially the wood

OZZY, that looks like a M 1200 I have,it does not look like the 2, 20 ga Mod 12s I have, if I were a betting man, I would give big odds thats a Model 1200 , made sometime after 1964.

Actually qualified in a Win Model 12 in my USAF dys in the mid 80's. Had a few of them but more Rem 870s. They were great shotguns that I temember but like the Win 1897 don't keep the trigger pulled when you work the action or you'll keep shooting LOL

That's what I love about my Ithaca Model 37! When I was a kid, my buddy and I would take turns doing "mag dumps" from the hip with one. We'd always preface it by saying, "Get off my land!"

That grain is incredible. When they say they don't make'em like that anymore...

And if Dad hadn't have shot good with the 870, hard telling how many rounds would've been through his.
