I find if I cut down on the amount of time I spend at the range it really cuts down on all the ammo and do dads I "need" to buy.
I am thinking maybe try this for a year? :dunno: Could pay off the car. Being debt free could be a part of my survival plan :)

Oh yea and quit reading the classifieds. That's the hard part.

Try shooting more .22s. You can still spend plenty of time at the range and hold down costs.

Good idea on paying down any debts.

Agreed, I have actually thought of something similar, and have considered selling some of my guns that never see range time, and eliminating certain calibers to streamline my collection.

    Just shoot a .22

I have started doing that more.
I don't want to eliminate range time 100% but even if I cut it by 75% or just go when I have friends to go with that will still be going a few times a month.

    You're just talking crazy.

Maybe buy some reloading equipment instead. That'll bring down your shooting costs. Maybe you could even write it off as a business expense. You'd be bending and forming metal after all.

I did the same thing by only going when my buddies were going, and shooting more 22's. Its cut down on the range costs quite a bit. An reloading helps alot to.

I would be ashamed to confess what I have spent monthly on gun and gun related purchases over the last year. unless of course I was single then I would be proud. :)
There is room to cut back.

Being a college student, I got a lot of stuff to pay for, not just college but other things like paying off my car. I'm taking the next 3-4 months off as far as going to the range so I can have more money to save for a WASR 10. Then maybe I can hit the range again, I feel your pain.
