I need some help identifying maker of old hatchet.

    I hope ingo can help me find out who made this hatchet. I bought it over 20 years ago at a rummage sale and have always wondered who the maker is.     I can't make out the stamp on your hatchet head, but I have a very similar looking Hults Bruks (HB) hatchet (also made in Sweden). I vaguely recall that HB is a predecessor to GB. Let us know if you figure it out....

    Hence best guess. Like BlueDog indicates, the stamp is well worn. That's why I went with U as opposed to G. If you look at what wiki says about Urafors Yxfabrik, they lead you to a logo that closely resembles this one.
