On Thursday March 8, 2012, I enlisted in the US Army. Swore in and signed my contract. Now time to wait and prepare to ship out. Heading to Fort Sill, Oklahoma in late August. I just wanted to update all of you.

And to all you current/former military guys/gals, I can't wait to serve our great country! :patriot:

They let you have the haircut before you were sworn in? :D

Best of luck and THANK YOU (in advance) for your service!

I've been cutting my hair this way for years now. One soldier said he liked my haircut. I said thank you. He asked who did it, I said myself. And he said I like that even better, save money. :D

Thank you everyone, I'll make you all proud.

Congrats on joining. Glad if I was able to help you out with your decision. As already stated, its a bit of a mind game to weed people out in basic. Just listen to what they say and do what you are told. Its actually easy to turn your brain off and coast through. Im sure you will do great.

Congratulations! So, are you artillery? If so, what made you choose that MOS?

My MOS is 92Y, unit supply specialist. When I was at meps, that was the only job that was available to me. I can live with it. I'm going to see how it goes. I might change my MOS to Military Police when I get the chance, repeter1977 has been a big help to me.

God speed and congratulations. I joined at age 18, had zero direction in my life. It helped a lot in the growing up process.
