I wonder if there's a connection?

Over the past couple of years I have been getting more serious about following and trying to influence politics and in trying to get others motivated toward recapturing our freedoms.

In the same period I have become progressively more "Gothic" in musical tastes, fashion, style, choice of reading matter, etc.

I wonder if there's a connection?

Oh, and "The Howling" may have been a bit too heady an intro to Gothic Metal. This one's a bit less intense (and still one of my favorite Within Temptation hits) while actually being a not bad metaphor for the connection I was speculating:
