You mean the scope setting 3 inches above the bore is not pointed at the same place at the end of the barrel????? Who would have thunk it?

I want to jump on the calling him a stupid idiot bandwagon, but this time for some reason I can't. It was a really DUMB mistake. Hopefully he learns from this.

Now, what I really want to discuss is this comment made by the OP:

Now what exactly do you mean by this?

I saw a fender with a bullet hole on the top edge, the guy said a friend was shooting across the hood. People forget that the barrel is a couple inches lower than the cross hairs on the scope.

Back when I was a cop in the SF Bay Area we had a rookie checking his shotgun at the start of the shift. Put it in the gunrack, and decided to pull the trigger, you know, just to make sure it was 'safe'! :ugh: 1/2 the guys damn near crapped their pants, and the rest of us drew down thinking we were getting shot at. At the next start of shift briefing the Sergeant presented him with a trophy for 'Best Shot' - it was topped with a patrol car with an paper umbrella stuck in a hole where the shot went through the roof!
