Anyone else in here live out by bass lake? I'm in the process of closing on some property. Was wondering what type of shooting community is out there. I heard plenty of gunshots when i was shopping around.... :-D.

How close to the lake? Out in the rural areas, you should be fine as long as you have a safe backstop. If near the lake, it will likely depend on your neighbors.

I would actually do this, but with hilarious fine print...

When I was a kid (35-40 years ago) a friend of my dad would take us shooting at a range/gun club he was a member of near Knox. As best as I recall it was a rifle and pistol range and that they shot metallic silhouette there. I really can not remember where it was exactly, but I remember it being a nice facility.

Does anyone remember this place and is it still operating?

I live a couple of miles northeast of Knox.
I have my own 75 yd range.
Several of my neighbors, within a half mile or so, shoot also.
So, no problems that I am aware of.
It is a nice area.

I let the serious cloners stay up late and obsess over shades of green. Close is cool with me. I'm a shooter, not a cloner.

Member Whip McCord runs a match site not far away for Sunday shoots. He may chime in. Also the DNR in Winamac has a nice range 15 minutes from you.
