Just read the article. The last few lines are music to my ears...

Vaughn was impressed with the professionalism of the IMPD officer who interviewed her, she said. Still, she realizes an officer’s job generally begins once a crime already has occurred.

She is considering arming herself to be ready for any future encounters.

“Incidents like this make you think seriously about carrying a gun,” she said.

I had to post on the comments section of that article. I'm amazed at some of the idiots posting comments still thinking we shouldn't have the right to protect ourselves!

I think it would be great if someone offered her some free training.. Wonder where we could find people willing to do that? :)

She could be our local "EMILY MILLER" - only without all the drama of DC to 'get her gun' ...

Just what we've been waiting for / wanting in local media
(not that I want anyone to go thru this to get to that point) ...

BTW ... Nice TV reference Kurt ... I recall that show ... 'set' in INDY ...

Vaughn remembered she had a portable Walkman-style CD player lying in the floor of her car. She offered it to the man. Unimpressed, he passed on it.

Reminds me of the time someone burgled my car. Did not take a single CD, I guess my taste in music was bad(?)

Plenty of fail advice in the comment section. Where do people come up with some of this stuff? "Automatics jam a lot", "a revolver always has one in the chamber" and "just carry a can of hornet spray". Simply amazing.

56th and Kessler run parallel, sooo where was it? I could say it was close to me and that it wasn't.

Agreed, someone or several members should invite her to the forum.

My favorite comment was the guy wanting the criminals to stop carrying firearms. I just read his first comment about making the punishment harsher for using a firearm, which I agree to, but what he doesn't realize is that murder is illegal, carries one heck of a punishment, but still doesn't stop people from murdering others.

And the comment about calling the police. Yep, when seconds count... yes friends, I know, preaching to the choir.

^^^This area I pass each time that I go visit my Daughters. One lives at Kessler+Keystone area, and one lives in the 5300 block of Central.

There is a closed down strip mall there..Bill.

This sounds like the old saying, "What's the definition of a conservative? A liberal who was robbed yesterday."
