Thought I better introduce myself so the site will stop yelling at me telling me I haven't posted yet.

My name is Robert and I live in Carmel. Pushing 50. Have thought about getting a gun for years, but with all the recent pub I decided to do it now. Already applied for my LTCH, so in the middle of my 3 month wait. But that's ok, don't have a weapon to carry. Will probably wait a bit until things (read prices) settle down a bit. Thanks for the interesting and informative site.

That was my first handgun - a S&W .38. IMHO, a revolver is a great first step for someone newly exercising their Second Amendment rights.
