I didn't know it was still going on. Thought it ended a couple years ago.

Tell that to the families of the guys that have died over the past few years or to the young children of the 4000 guys still there now....

I guess your post officially makes it the forgotten war.

9 years, thousands of lives and a trillion dollars too late. It wasn't worth it.

Don't forget we are leaving behind the largest and most expensive embassy in the world. Oh, and 17K+ private security "contractors". What is the ratio? A contractor costs the taxpayer 3 times as much as a soldier. I think that is correct.

I sincerely hope this was supposed to be purple. ill give you the benefit of the doubt on that one, but if you meant it intentionally, I have some rather nasty words to send your way. I have several close friends that never made it back from there w/in the last "couple of years"

I'm going to go out on a limb and say he meant that it gets no mention
in the press anymore and the sacrifices are being glossed over daily.
When is the last time you heard anything about Iraq in the mainstream press and the service members that are still there hanging their asses out on the line every day?

While Bush was in charge it lead the news nightly.
Do you all remember the keith olberman nightly death countdown?
When the bamster took over it was buried so as to not hamper him politically.
I have NO DOUBT that if someone could use Iraq to make a political gain
the death of soldiers would be leading nightly.. (again)
    It's f'n sick.
