Clean clothing is very important, especially in a post SHTF scenerio. Clean clothing performs better and insulates properly. Heavily soiled clothing is heavy, holds more water and will ultimately contribute to hygiene issues like skin infections and tissue breakdown.

Looks to me like something that could be easily enginered out of a five gallon bucket (after the food content previously stored in it has been eaten).

    Making Homemade Laundry Soap

The powdered form of this soap is awesome! You can mass produce this stuff like crazy for next to nothing. And it's much cheaper to use than store bought soaps.... we use nothing else. My whole family has converted to this stuff and won't go back to anything else.

Clean people, clothes, and dishes, are definitely going to be a big deal.

Whenever I'm out buying up cans of veggies and soup and what not, I'll grab a $.99 bottle of dish soap too, as part of my preps.

Staying clean is the best way to stay healthy.

Bar soap works well for clothes [and stores indefinetly] Rub soap on the wet shirt
and rub the cloth against it self between closed fists... rinse heavily . At least it worked
on grass stains when I was a kid. {mom wasn't punishing me she was training me for SHTF!]
