I have a 9mm die that is fairly new, and I rotate it and my 45 decapper to use on my 6 hole turret and not constantly have to set up all the dies.

Anyways, this is the only die that has rust on it on the adjusting knobs (basically the top of it). Is this normal or should I be contacting Lee for a replacement? The dies are about 6 months old and have loaded probably 100 rounds.

depends on how bad it is. You can use a rust remover if there is not a lot and give it a slight coat of oil/lubricant.

I spray my dies down with Turtle wax brand spray car wax and let it dry overnight. That has prevented discoloration pretty well.

I had to look in the garage. I have a spray called Rust Eater or you could use naval jelly. It should clean up well and then you just need to keep something on it.

It is just weird as it is the ONLY one of the dies that seems to have any rust whatsoever, I know how to get the rust off and stuff, was just wondering if it's normal for only one die to rust at a time.

    Might post pics later.

Dies need to be maintained exactly like you would any firearm.

They need to be periodically cleaned and lubed using the same materials you use to clean your firearms.

The exterior can always be wire brushed to clean off the rust.

I have some Lee dies that look the same. I have not worried about mine, however i did clean them (outside) with steel wool and now keep them oiled better.
