I need to find a gunsmith familiar with Lee Enfield rifles. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

    Thanks, Shepp

No specific issue. Just have an old enfield I would like to have looked over before it's fired.

allenM might be able to take a look at it and determine its safeness to fire, if that's what you are concerned about.

If you are looking for info on value, I would start a thread in the long gun section w/ as many pictures and as much information as you can, and let the membership help.

Is there a reason that you feel like it needs to be checked out by a gunsmith?

Any SEVERE pitting in the chamber or bore? Cracks in the metal? does the bolt feel like it closes tightly? IMHO these guns were build WELL and can typically be trusted unless there is something that stands out otherwise.

Nothing my limited knowledge can detect. That's really why I think I should get someone more expert to take a look at it.
