His and hers for this year. S&W 686 6" .357mag and SRH 9 1/2" 44mag. We plan on using in an area with probably no more than 50 yard shots. Have leverguns in both 357 and 44 as backup in case something of interest out a little further catches our eye.

Remington 870 Express 12 gauge with a smoothbore IC barrel and rifle sights.

H&R Handi-Rifle in .357 with Bushnell 1.75x-4x scope.

Nothing fancy, but they get the job done.

Noth'n Fancy, killed every deer I've shot at. She is zero'd at 110y, and 225 with the scope and 50 with the open peep sights.

Not really worth it's own thread so I'll put it here.


Took my 870 out to 225 yds at JP range for the first time.

I think I did pretty good

First shot missed, second shot at the bottom, third at the top, fourth and fifth in the center when I figured out the holdover on that BDC reticle.

This dont really weight that much when you take off the Bipod. Just like any rifle or muzzleloader

My favorite deer gun. Old Marlin 55s. Smooth bore 12 gauge. I have lots of confidence in this gun and have made some very good shots.

Spainy79 - I love the wood on your lever gun! Is it custom or just really nice factory?

I honestly can't tell you. I picked that gun up at an auction 2 years ago. It's a great shooter.

Here they are :

Marlin 1894P.....44 mag.. It took me three months to find this gun on Gunbroker. They were made in the early 90's came from the factory with a 16.25" "PORTED" barrel.....took a little time the get the accuracy out of it I was looking for but after seven different loads and a call to Final Finish for some of their heads.....finally got down to 1" @ 100yds....the Final Finish rounds took me from 3" down to 1".....WELL WORTH the $40.00.....

Winchester Model 70 in 358 IDC. 200 grain hornady or TSX at almost 2,600 puts a big hole in a deer...
