I like to read. Mostly audiobooks.
99% of the time I prefer non-fiction.
I love the show "parks and rec"
One of the characters says "I'm going to go read this book about old ships"
Then moments later we see:
I believe he is reading
Now as I understand it. This is part of a huge series of books. And was part of the inspiration of "master and commander"
So my question is. Have any of you read it? Can I pick this book up and start reading it with out reading the preceding books and still understand what's going on?
