LINEAR COMPENSATOR ?

I put out a thread about silencers, now I was wondering about LINEAR COMPENSATORS , I never heard of them before.Does anybody have one of these and what do you think of them ? If anybody has one, whats your opinion on them ? Are they even worth getting ? What is their purpose ?

Linear compensators just direct the muzzle blast forward away from the shooter. They may be of some help to the shooter, but they do not reduce the actual noise level.

This is correct. It simply redirects the sound forward towards the target. I have one on a 9mm carbine. Works great.

I had one on a 7.5” 5.56 ar, the difference between that and a bird cage or brake is night and day. It may not be any quieter at the muzzle but it makes it easier on the ears. Plus with a linear comp you can run a longer handgaurd for that tacticool look
