Nice Arisaka! Do you have any details on it? When it was made, stuff like that? Is the bayonet original? Maybe some more pics? :D

Marlin 39A after a little maintenance

This is a '72 that I picked up at Bradis and then put a little elbow grease in. The stock had actually been painted black around the action and there was an attempt to blend it to the natural color some. I didn't like the plain machine carving so I added a little more relief to help bring out the grain figure. I know some would say that I am ruining it by changing it, but I did it for me. I also got rid of the white plastic and used some nice burly maple that I have instead. I did the same on an Arisaka 6.5 hunting rifle that a family friend gave me and I liked the look enough to do it again. I'm happy with it and that is all that matters to me and my kids. The scope will come off as soon as I test different ammo to see if it has a favorite. After that we will go back to the fun and challenge of open sights. It is amazing how much better 12 and 14 year old eyes can see targets!

I agreed the scope seems high. Other things to consider regarding the scope height are the shooter cervical length (neck height) and the facial circumference. Some people have longer neck with wider face.

    Oh, alright, I'll play along.

Here is one you don't see everyday. M1941 Johnson (and another WWII-era USMC arm, a Reising M50 SMG):

Trapdoor Springfield. This one was made in 1880, mostly upgraded to M1884 specs:

    Remington M11. With some changes:

Suppressed Ruger 77/22. The most used rifle I have.

That .260 is a nice rifle. What kind of load are you shooting out of it, and what are the results? I have always liked that cartridge. I would bet yours is a 8 twist barrel, isn't it?
