Details, we need details! Mfg, year, etc.!
The Springfield M1 Grarand was manufactured in May 1945 and it has a Winchester bolt. I best guess is that like most other M1 Granands the owner had to toss his bolt into the bucket to get on the boat to go home from Europe or the Pacific. Once the rifle was back into a arms room in the states the first bolt the armoror could grab from the bucket was the one it got.

The M1A is a Loaded National Match thats a ongoing project. Im replacing the stock with a Troy Industry's MCS and doing quite a few NM upgrades along with a Leupold Mk3 scope.

These are the only other images that show any of the wood, it really looks better in real life than what is shown here. It has that patina and "look" that make you want to know the life story! It had one really bad "ding" right where you grip the fore wood to shoot, so I repaired that and the rest is just like I found it. I guess that I should take some better pics because it really is nice for a G98.

Thank you and no, that is not a factory barrel length. I had it cut and recrowned. The barrel length with compensator, from the closed bolt face, is 18"

    Down with the Sickness!

My first Mosin I'm actually going to shoot (all others got sold first, lol)

    - 1937 Tula 91/30, Round receiver.
    - Receiver, Triggerguard, Bolt, Buttplate all matching (bayonet doesn't).
    - Either a really good refinish job, or almost unissued, no nicks and dings or bare spots on the barrel or receiver, heavy varnish on the stock.
    - Rifling dark but decent.

Hoping to get out and shoot it this weekend, got some Brown Bear ready to go, just got it all cleaned today. Hoping to get a good baseline target before I start doing anything to it.
