As the title says I'm looking to purchase an automatic clay target thrower. I'm trying to keep the budget around the $400 range. Anybody have any good/bad experiences. I'm looking at the champion and do all brands so far. Let me know what you guys like/dislike. Thanks

My dad has an Atlas thrower. I'm not sure on pricing, but his is pretty basic (doesn't oscillate, throw doubles, etc.), with a foot pedal and a button switch. He's had it for probably 15 yrs and thrown a lot of birds with it, as he used to shoot competitive trap and practiced a few times a week with it. He hasn't had many problems with it, but those he has had, have been resolved by their excellent customer service, anytime he calls on something they hand him over to a guy on the floor who walks him through whatever the problem is and then gets him the right replacement parts if needed and explains how to put them in over the phone. As I recall, he once had a problem with the battery disconnect on his, and they made him a custom switch box to resolve his problem, all figured out over the phone. He's not a real handy guy but they've walked him through every issue, and that things still runs great. I think he has to buy a new deep cycle battery for it once ever 4-5 years, but that's not too bad, and he doesn't charge it hardly it all.
