In my attempts to be prepared I have a lot of gear & food at the house and I've been using some tote boxes I bought at Lowes that were the best think out there at the time. These weren't the usual POS rubbermaid deals that you can load up and watch the sides start to buldge. The totes I bought were all black with a yellow lid and had a 27 gallon capacity with a 400# stacking capacity. I mean these things were just perfect for what I was using them for and now all they have are these little BS things that look like the quality ones I bought in the past but are total knock off pieces of junk.

I wanted to buy a few more of the good ones tonight, but now I'm not going to be able to. It was so nice to have reasonablty priced strong totes that stacked so tight they were practically locked in, and now I'm out of luck.

Any suggestions? What do you use to store your gear & preps?

I get the clear totes with the hinged blue "meet in the middle" lids for storing a lot ( I mean a LOT) of stuff and I like them very well.

very similar in design to the tote below but a bit bigger I believe.

One suggestion: look for a manufacturer on the box somewhere and googlefu to see if they're being sold elsewhere. It's unlikely they've been discontinued altogether.

I went to Lowes today to buy a shovel and some drill bits. It took some doing but I found a USA made shovel, and some drill bits NOT made in China. The shovel was $2 more than the chinese model...and the drill bits were an extra buck. Well worth it.
