never made an IWB holster but a guy in the IGR with me asked me to make one. I sketched up a pattern on my lunch break. the first pic is after skiving down the wings and then applying the glue. Second pic is all the stitch holes for the bucket cut. and the third is the bucket stitched and wet forming it. I'm cutting the stitch holes around the wings now. Hardware will be here on Wednesday and I can finish it up. I'm calling it the stingray.

    In the country, hopefully.
Interesting pattern. Not sure what clips you’re using, I couldn’t get my rear clip mounted low enough on your pattern. But I like my holsters high and forward, unlike my women.

he sent a picture of the holster he used daily for the past three years and it sits low so that's what I'm hoping to get. if not then I'll move onto a new pattern.

I like mine low where the grip is just slightly above the belt but easy to grab. I also like what is called the FBI Cant.

    Edit:

IIRC Bill Jordan came up with the FBI Cant design.

I like my holsters with no cant so when I make one with a cant I struggle patterning if the person I'm making for is not present since no matter what I'm not able to make it feel right to me.

That's my preference for IWB holster. OWB l like them perpendicular if they ride low and the Cant if they ride high.

I had a guy I work with ask for one for a glock which is a no go. i dont mind making one for my 1911 or someone I trust not to tex grebner themselves.
My niece' future husband's dad is a Texas state trooper. He carrys that holster for his 1911 off duty. It's got a thin strap, and very nice engravings on it. Beautiful holster.

when I was on the PD we had a former ranger come lead some training he wore a tom threepersons and double ranger belts all tooled with insanely intricate floral carving. It was the most beautiful gun leather I've ever seen.

That's what his looked like but he wears it on a 1.5" belt when he's out and about with the family.
Do they have someone or company that makes them for them all down there in Texas?

Next time I'm in Texas I want to visit the Texas Rangers Museum in Waco. I hear they have some of the Rangers firearms in there and some are very extravagant.
spring break 2001 I was 7 and we went to see my grandparents in new mexico and got travel around the southwest. I cant remember where at in texas but we went to a museum that had some of Manuel Trazazas Gonzaullas' (el lobo solo) guns and I can still remember how beautiful they were crazy engraving a cut trigger guards. After that I wanted to be a texas ranger lol.
