Did a search and get both ends of the spectrum.
I am thinking about building a lightweight AR with a 14.5 barrel and pinned battlecomp and was wondering if I should get the M4 ramps or not.

Some say "helps reliability", but others say only if you are running full auto and have crap magazines.

Some say, "hurts accuracy", but others say not a big deal unless you are bench shooting for scores.

    What are your experiences?

If you get a barrel with feedramps, but a receiver without, you will have constant jamming issues.

    Learned first hand.

Personally, I like having them on my gun, and all the F/A guns I've got have them

Absolutely. "M4 feed ramps" are just another upgrade to further the development of the AR platform. They absolutely aid in better feeding from the magazine into the chamber. I have not the slightest idea how they would affect accuracy in the slightest. When the round is fired, it has cleared the feed ramps and is fully seated in the chamber. If someone can explain that to me I would appreciate it. There is a reason that most manufacturers only produce rifles with M4 cuts.

In short, get them and dont look back.

Definately go with the M4 Feed Ramps. They aid in better feeding and reliability. All mine have had them and they have been plenty accurate!!

As long as they match, get 'em.

Doesn't matter to me one way or the other.

If you are building your upper and the barrel has the M4 extension, you can buy an upper receiver that has them or not.

If you are buying a barrel that has RIFLE extension, buy an upper that doesn't have the M4 feedramps.
